update: as promised...a much better photo at 32 weeks from last saturday night at the DMGCC member/guest dinner
what's been happening these past two weeks...
what's been happening these past two weeks...
baby is the size of squash this week - 15.2-16.7 inches long and 2.5-3.6 lbs
we went to our biweekly doctor's visit today - weighed in at 163 lbs, BP was good, belly measures 32cm long (right on track) and baby's heart rate was in the 130s. i got my hemoglobin tested again and it is back up to 11.4 - so that's good. i've been taking a daily iron supplement, so i will just continue to do that to make sure it stays up
last friday, todd and i visited a potential day care that we've been thinking about using. it's the hospital day care, so they are convenient to allow part-time care on a varying schedule. since when i go back to work, my schedule will be different each week - finding day care like this is not always easy. we liked the facility and got to see all the rooms and talk about all the fun activities the kids do while they are there. we won't be needing day care until later in the fall...but we figured it wouldn't hurt to take a tour and get some info on prices and hours
i am still feeling pretty good overall. there is definitely more pressure on my bladder and getting up to pee during the night is almost a guarantee. i also have a little harder time getting up from sitting on the couch and bed - just lugging around this extra weight can be hard sometimes :)
i've had a few quite intense leg cramps - one was even so bad in the morning that i had to get out of bed to step down on my foot to get it out of the pointed position. it was stuck like that!!
and in addition to leg cramps - i've been experiencing some swollen ankles and legs too. standing and walking a lot at night for work is one of the main culprits. keeping them elevated when it gets bad seems to help though...and drinking plenty of water

we've started making some minor progress on the basement. we've had some visits by the plumber and electrician and have even ordered supplies for the bathroom and infloor heat. hopefully we can a few more things finished up before august rolls around - even if the whole thing isn't completely finished by the time baby gets here :)
i've been working during the day this week - which has been a nice change. i've been training to scrub in and pass instruments to help with c-section surgeries. i'm still learning and it's been fast paced and intense at times. but everyone is so helpful and the doctors are usually patient enough to make sure i get it right!
You look great and enjoyed update! xoxo
