19 weeks...

what's happening this week...

baby is the size of a mango...yummmmmmm mango!

started our baby registry!! i know it's early, but we had the weekend free and took advantage. soooooo overwhelming...and golly, babies are expensive!!

a friend loaned me a BUNCH of adorable maternity clothes. i spent saturday night trying them all on, along with all the others that i've been loaned. i feel like i'm pretty much set for a while...now if only the weather would stop being so cold so i could wear most of them ;)

weird note: i'm starting to be able to see the inside of my belly button. kind of a odd thing. p.s. i've always really liked my belly button...so i hope it goes back to normal after all of this...haha!

we've started putting together some of the baby furniture we have. the changing table and crib are up!

since we needed some room for this new furniture, our guest room is now in transition mode. i also purchased a few decorations (lamp, stool, etc) to put in there...slowly we are getting things organized

currently, the decision is to stay in our house and finish the basement. that's not to say we won't change this decision several times in the next few months. but for now...we're staying put

i'm still enjoying those baby movements! i recently read too that they aren't so much "kicks" as they are somersaults and whole body flips! love this little acrobat

i'm headed back to work tonight after having over an entire week off - my schedule just worked out that way. it was nice to have some days of relaxation and time to get a few things organized

18 weeks...

what's happening this week...

having a few days of extreme fatigue this week - not sure if this is payback for not being tired during the 1st trimester or what...but i think i suffered enough those few months

baby is the length of a sweet potato

felt the first baby movements in the EARLY morning last saturday (3/15)...now i enjoy them frequently since i know what i'm looking for. baby seems to like it best when i'm lying on my right side

accumulating MORE baby gear - our neighbors dropped off a bunch of goodies for our little munchkin

started cleaning out some closets and trying to make some more space around here

hoping to scope out some rocking chairs and maybe get started on a baby registry this weekend

cut about 5 inches off my hair...i figure it is growing like crazy lately, what better time!?

this is the most disgusting photo of me...please forgive the angle, the no make-up and the no shower

17 weeks...

what's happening this week...

baby is the length of an onion

measured by belly for the fist time - 33 inches at the navel

more and more people are noticing my bump...mostly coworkers. i guess this belly is hard to hide in scrubs

just waiting patiently to feel the first baby kicks...i've heard to look for "butterfly flutters"...if i don't notice them before this weekend, i might try to lie down and really concentrate to see if i feel anything - i'm just so anxious to feel those sensations!!

my quad AFP screening came back negative!
here is a little more information on the test, if interested Quad Screen ...basically it is a screening test to look for neural tube defects (such as spina bifida), Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome), Trisomy18 (Edwards Syndrome) and other types of chromosome abnormality.

still feeling pretty good - although i do have some bad days - but it is much more tolerable than what i was dealing with

went for a two mile walk outside on monday and it was fabulous. looking forward to this spring weather and getting in more and more walks just like that

16 weeks...

what's happening this week....

i turned 34 years-old

baby is the size of an avocado

baby's heart rate was 138-140 - took the doctor a minute to find the little peanut...he/she was sitting really low

i've finally gained weight - about 4 pounds....weighing in at 136.8

i've been nausea-free for over a week! woooooo hoooooooo

trip to KC was a success - first time being out and going out without drinking. it wasn't too bad, although those glasses of wine looked mighty tasty

wore maternity clothes for the first time - although i didn't really need to - but i found some comfy jeans and a top from my sisters' stash and wore them out to dinner one night

purchased two belly bands...to hopefully extend my regular wardrobe for a wee bit longer

we went to dubuque this weekend to visit family. we hadn't seen the kults since christmas!!! too long

got MORE baby stuff - todd's sister is letting us borrow a crib and changing table - she also loaned me a bunch of maternity clothes...i swear we might not have to buy this baby anything :)

my face has not been this clear in YEARS...and my  hair seems very healthy and smooth lately too. I guess i can blame both of those lovely things on pregnancy hormones...seems unfair that it won't last forever
