what's happening this week...
baby is the length of a cucumber - 15.2-16.7 inches, 2.5-3.8 lbs
whoa - how can there only be 10 weeks left?!?! this third trimester stuff is going by FAST! i'm so anxious to meet this little muffin - i can't hardly wait
doctor's appointment today lasted about.....5 minutes. got weighed, BP tested, measured and listened to baby's heartbeat. up 3 lbs (160 per the office scale), BP is 120/77, not sure what my belly measured - she didn't mention it and i forgot to ask, and baby's heart rate is 140. all is well at this point. no scolding on my weight by this OB - i did have a pretty indulgent weekend, so i am not surprised by the three pound weight gain though ;)
baby shower last weekend was a huge success! it was so fun and adorable and my sissies and mom did such a great job hosting! i could not have asked for a better party. i was able to see and visit with a lot of family and friends i haven't seen in a while. i'm feeling so honored by all the love my baby is already getting! we even walked away with a whole truck full of goodies. and quite literally, we had a truck full!
the theme of the party was lips and mustaches - since we don't know if this little nugget is a boy or a girl. my sissies had guests guess which they thought the baby would be and took photos of them as they arrived holding up little mustaches or lips. i can't wait to see the responses!! todd and i both guessed girl (separately) by holding up our lips - i guess that hasn't changed much since the beginning of this pregnancy - ha!
i've spent the last three days deep cleaning my house and organizing baby stuff. i've got most of it put away and love the feeling of a clean house. although, not sure i will be able to clean to this caliber any more this summer. i had to take a lot of breaks and getting up and down from my knees to standing took A LOT of effort. either way - i'm glad it's done and here's to trying to keep things tidy until August
last friday my sissy took some beautiful maternity photos of me and todd - and i have to say they turned out just gorgeous! the lighting was amazing and i think she captured the pure joy we are feeling these days just perfectly! i've been told recently and especially after friends have seen these photos - that i am "glowing" and i have to admit - i definitely feel like i am! the happiness that is inside me must be shining through - and it makes me smile that other people can see it too. i'm looking forward to printing a few shots of the three of us to keep framed in the baby's room! thank you thank you thank you jackie!!
