stats:
approximately 20 lbs
wearing 6-9 month and 6-12 months sized clothing & size 3 diapers, size 4 at night...we are not blowing out of EVERY outfit every day anymore - i've discovered buy buy baby diapers and they seem to be helping the situation too
we are on pretty much the same daily schedule as last month. little man still hates to nap - especially at day care. at home, we can occasionally get a really good morning nap out of him (2 hours) and sometimes a decent afternoon nap (1 hour) - but neither are guaranteed and i just consider myself lucky if he sleeps longer than 20-30 minutes during the day.
feeding update: i am nursing crosby "twice" a day now. i nurse when he first gets up in the morning and then again at 7am (to get us back on our schedule for the day) and at his 3pm feeding. he gets a bottle at 11am and at bedtime again. this seems to be working for us and has helped me from having to wake up to pump during the day when he is at day care. i've also been stopping into day care on my way home from work to nurse him (when i can). i'm not sure how much not having a consistent daily routine is effecting him - since he goes to day care three days a week and is home with me the other four. overall - he seems to be ok with it - i just wonder sometimes...
sleep update: he consistently wakes up between 330 and 5 every morning, but will go back to sleep after he eats at that time. the time change effected him a little bit but not too horribly i don't think. he had about a three day adjustment and then was back to normal. i'd love for him to sleep straight through until 6 or 7 - but since he does go back to bed after he eats at these earlier times - it doesn't make it QUITE so bad...
we fought TWO more ear infections this month. ugh. he started off the month of march with a left ear infection and was prescribed another antibiotic. i was not too thrilled to put him on medicine again - so todd and i decided to take him to a chiropractor too and see what help we could get there. we held off on the antibiotic and got him adjusted at the chiropractor instead and did a few tweeks to his diet (eliminated cereals) and added a daily probiotic to his bedtime bottle. my neighbor also suggested and gave us these all-natural ear drops she uses for her son (who is also prone to ear infections) to help with the pain. we did pretty good for about 10 days and then things got bad. cros came down with a fever and was extremely irritable and lethargic. i brought him back to the pediatrician and this time he had a double ear infection and a sore throat :( of course, they were not too happy with me for not giving him the antibiotic the last time - so they suggested i give it this time. i was still not thrilled to give it, but even after the first dose - little man started to perk up a lot! we are still doing those other "little" things to hopefully ward off additional infections and help boost his immune system though.
...and just when we finally got rid of the ear infections - crosby popped out another tooth with two others on their way! one on top is broken through the gums and the one next to it is coming out soon. he also has a little one pushing up on the bottom. we were lucky to get those first two teeth last month in without incident - not so much this time. he seems miserable! we're trying some tylenol and motrin when he seems really bad and also orajel as needed. i cannot even imagine the discomfort he is in - and it breaks my heart to see him hurting!
todd and i enjoyed our first weekend away, celebrating my birthday in KC with some friends, and crosby enjoyed his first overnight babysitter with g'ma Rita! he did great and todd and i had a wonderful time. we were gone two nights from him and felt great the whole time because we knew he was in good hands. although i am sure she was exhausted, i am pretty sure grandma thoroughly enjoyed her one-on-one time with the baby!
new skills and thrills: sleeps on his side in his crib...says "bababababa" and continues to babble a lot, he'll even "talk" back to you when we make noises with him...eating avocado, berries, and corn...got down from a sitting position to his tummy all on his own for the first time on 3/21/15...rolls all over, and will get himself to the toys he wants on the floor by rolling, pushing and scooting (on his back or belly)...grunts when he is starting to fall asleep...has developed this funny "throaty" giggle and will stiffen his whole body, legs and arms when he finds something exciting...
