39 weeks...

what's happening this week...

baby is the size of a watermelon - 18.9 - 20.9 inches and 6.2 - 9.2 lbs

haha - we had a watermelon in the house the other day so i just HAD to do this ;)

as i'm typing this i am officially 39.1 days pregnant. and i know i should just be patient but i was really hoping i could have written this post with a new baby in my arms! i am feeling really good and am just trying to focus on that right now - but i am getting.so.anxious!!!

we had our 39 week dr appointment yesterday and everything is checking out fine. BP 118/62, weight 175 lbs, baby's heart rate is 130, i'm barely dilated to 1 cm and 80% effaced, head is still low and (hopefully this isn't TMI) my doctor stripped my membranes to hopefully kick me into labor in over the next 24 - 48 hours...so far though i don't really feel any different and nothing is really happening

i've now had three friends due AFTER me deliver their babies and turned on the today show this morning to find out Savannah Guthrie (one of the anchors) had her baby overnight.  although i don't really know when she was due, i always felt we were close in due dates. i'm so happy for all of these people and their new little babies to cuddle - but it's starting to get annoying that i'm still pregnant and they get to hold their little munchkins. it's even happening at work when i care for patients that have due dates after mine. i know, wah wah, i'm healthy and baby is healthy, no more complaining...i'm just being honest ;)

we had dinner with todd's mom last night who was in town. she helped us purchase our rocker/glider too!! we put it together and rearranged the room last night and i keep walking in there today to look at everything - i just love love love it! the room really came together much better than i ever imagined. i am always really good at having an image of what i want things to turn out to be and not executing very well. but i have to say, that i am impressed with how it all looks in there. there are still a few last things that need to be done, but it's ready for a baby

i'm scheduled to work tonight and three days next week and then i am officially on maternity leave...i didn't really talk to my dr about being induced or anything yet...but our next appointment is next thursday morning (i'll be 40 weeks and one day) - we'll see if i make it until then - hehe

and i'm also happy to report that todd and i finally decided on a girl name last night! we are still debating the boy name but have it narrowed down to three that we mutually like...
