38 weeks...

what's happening this week...

baby is the size of a pumpkin - 18.9-20.9 inches long and 6.2-9.2 lbs

updates from the doctor's appointment this week...not sure on the BP, weighed in at 175lbs, baby's heartrate was in the 130s with an acceleration into the 150s (in the fetal monitoring world, accelerations = good!), i'm still hardly dilated, but 70% effaced and doctor keeps saying head is low, and belly measures at 37cm. 

suffering from some swollen feet and ankles and a few pretty uncomfortable contractions this week - although they still aren't painful

i also asked a particular doctor at the group i go to to "special" me and do my delivery specifically. i really really like her and respect her, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. she was super excited and honored that i asked, so she agreed! woop! she just told me that i'd better not go into labor this weekend (that's already passed) because she was going on vacation with her family. so i made it through the weekend, and now we're good to go!

todd and i celebrated our four year "legal" wedding anniversary this past week (on my 38 week date actually)

our good friends had their baby on friday night - and although she was due 9 days after me - i am super excited for them. we went to visit and meet the little guy tonight and they are all doing well :)

my momma came to visit this past weekend and helped me out sooooooo much! she did lots of laundry and organizing and sterlizing and now i feel so much more prepared for this little peanut to arrive. it was nice to spend a quiet weekend with her one last time too. we really had a nice time together. i heart her so much

todd started and finished painting the dresser for the baby's room. and we tried to finish decorating the room but realized we need a little help from todd's dad for a few things...so those things might be finished after baby's arrival. which is totally fine - since i'm sure the baby won't mind that we have a little decorating to do once he/she gets home

still needs some handles...but we love it!

car seat is also installed in my car - so we can officially bring this baby home. so right now, i think all i really have left to do to get "prepared" is pack my hospital bag! AHH! although this is a 38 week post - i actually only have 10 days left as of today...
